Radiused edges and corners help prevent snagging while providing attractive appearance. Large, clamp-nut lets you torque rings to Weaver-style or Mil-STD 1913 (Picatinny) bases. | |  | The SIG SG-550 Series Rail Adapter is machined from a solid billet of 7075-T651 high-strength aluminum. Designed to bolt directly onto the forearm of the SG-550 Series rifles with no modification. The adapter mount is extremely versatile, allowing mounting on to a variety of weapons with only minimal modification to the existing handguard. The rail is built to Mil-STD 1913 (Picatinny) standards with 7 slots for maximum versatility. The rail is attached with two (2) 8-32 x 3/8 Camcar Textron Torx Plus screws with a 3/16" x 5/16" x 2" backup bar to increase rigidity in the forearm mounting. In cooperation with OEM's and our customers, TPS's Research and Development department has been working to provide customized mounting solutions that meet today's demanding requirements for specialized optics.
